Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a primary care model where patients pay a monthly or annual fee to a medical practice for access to a range of primary care services. DPC is different from traditional healthcare delivery because it's a physician-driven model, rather than being based on insurance companies.
Please call us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

At AVAYA MED, we provide affordable primary care coverage that ensures patients can spend high-quality time with our physician, regardless of insurance status. For a low monthly membership fee, patients enjoy unlimited appointments and direct access to our physician, Dr. Dhami. This allows us to deliver personalized, comprehensive care without the usual restrictions found in traditional healthcare settings.
At AVAYA MED, we believe that everyone benefits from personalized healthcare. That's why we provide custom healthcare services tailored to your specific needs. Our primary focus is on maintaining your overall health and well-being, as we understand the importance of proactive healthcare. We aim to make every visit thorough, relaxed, and focused on addressing your needs. Over time, we will develop a deep understanding of your health, providing you with invaluable personalized care.
We do not accept insurance. The most important aspect of our care model is the direct, personal relationship between you and your doctor. This direct approach extends to our business model as well. While insurance companies may be helpful for fixing a damaged car, we believe they should not have a say in the quality or cost of your family’s healthcare.
By forgoing insurance payments, we aim to protect our patients from the arbitrary and intrusive decisions often made by third-party payors. Additionally, our direct fee-for-service arrangement allows us to offer wholesale prices on laboratory tests, imaging, and medications, as it frees us from typical contractual agreements that prevent physicians from doing so.
Yes, we recommend that our patients continue with a major medical plan that has a high deductible and a health savings account. This will ensure financial assistance in case of hospitalization or if a referral to a specialist is necessary.
There are certain types of care that we cannot provide:
For these situations, you will still need insurance coverage. When our patients are admitted to the hospital, Dr. Dhami does not act as the attending physician. After discharge, she will review your hospital records and provide the necessary care to ensure that your health conditions are properly managed.
Most healthcare concerns can be handled by your primary care physician. If you are young and healthy, you may want to consider opting for a Health Share plan.
With AVAYA MED, there's no need to worry about meeting deductibles, as you won't need it for any of the services we provide. This alone could save you hundreds to thousands of dollars per year in healthcare costs.
We aim to provide excellent care with greater access, aiming to avoid hospitalizations and specialty referrals whenever possible. If such care is necessary, we will work closely with your hospitalist during your hospital stay and collaborate with any specialists involved. Depending on the level of care and expertise needed, we may rely on these specialized caregivers to manage your treatment. However, we will request records of your treatment and follow up with you once your condition has stabilized. We recommend having insurance for these situations, as we are not an insurance provider. Additionally, we plan to partner with local specialists to offer discounted pricing for services not covered in your monthly membership, such as colonoscopies and treatment for fractures.
At this time, we do not see Medicare or Medicaid patients. However, as this changes we may contact you from our waitlist if you choose to be added.
You can contact Dr. Dhami via phone, text, email or video chat. We request that after-hours phone calls and texts are limited to urgent questions or concerns.
When Dr. Dhami takes vacation, she will still be available by phone, text and email. She will also have a colleague in a nearby direct primary care practice available to see you if your concerns cannot wait until she returns.
Yes. We are happy to accept the children (age 5 years and up) of our enrolled clients. At this time, we are not able to provide routine vaccinations for young children but we will happily work with you to arrange these.
Yes, we see a non-member for a one-time visit of up to 60 minutes. We charge $350 for the one time visit. If any blood work or imaging is needed during this visit, a follow-up visit to discuss results will be included at no additional cost.
